Prescription sunglasses

Sunglasses built on your prescription

The right pair is one you can see clearly through and forget you are wearing. We start from your prescription and work outward.

Your prescription is yours. We give you a copy after your exam and fitting, and you can fill it anywhere, including sunglasses.

What goes into a pair

  • Frames cut and curved for wearing outdoors

  • Tints chosen for color and comfort

  • Polarized lenses for glare off water and roads

  • Your prescription, or plain lenses with no prescription

What happens

Most people choose sunglasses at a fitting, with their prescription in hand.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Choose a frame

Sunglass frames sit differently from everyday glasses, so we try a few on you.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Choose the tint

We hold tints up to your eyes and talk about driving, water, snow and the screen.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Order and collect

We place the order and fit the finished pair when it arrives.

Billing and what to bring

  • How it is billed

A vision plan may help with sunglasses, and some plans do not. We check your benefit before you order and tell you what is left to pay. Without a plan, we give you a written estimate first.

    How fees work
  • What to bring

    • Your current glasses

    • Your prescription, if it is from another office

    • Your vision plan card, if you have one

    • A sense of where you will wear them

About sunglasses

Do all sunglasses block UV light?

Not all of them do. Ask us which lenses carry UV protection before you order.

Can I wear polarized lenses for driving?

Many people do. Ask us how polarized lenses look with your car's screens and display.
