Eye exams
An eye exam in the room behind the shop
Dr. Zheng checks how well you see, how your eyes work together and how healthy they are. You leave with your prescription, and a copy is always yours.

The health of the front and back of each eye

How often to come
Adults
Many adults come every year or two. Dr. Zheng sets the schedule with you, based on your eyes, your health and your prescription.
If something changes
A new blur, a headache that keeps coming back or a change in how you see is a reason to call before your next visit.
If you wear contacts
Contact lens wearers have a yearly check, because the lenses are part of the exam.
Billing and what to bring
How it is billed
A routine exam is billed to a vision plan. A visit for an eye problem or a check on an eye disease is billed to medical insurance. Many visits include both, and we bill each part to the plan that pays for it.
How fees workWhat to bring
Your current glasses and contact lenses
A list of the medicines you take
Your vision plan and medical insurance cards
Your prescription, if it is from another office
Your doctor
Who does the exam
Dr. Zheng is a doctor of optometry. She does the exams and writes the prescriptions, and the optical team builds your glasses from them.

About exams
Do I need an exam if I see fine?
Many eye conditions cause no symptoms early on, so a routine exam is worth keeping even when your vision seems fine.
Will my eyes be dilated?
Sometimes. Dr. Zheng tells you why before she does it, and what to expect afterward.
Can I drive home?
If your eyes are dilated, your vision may be blurry and bright light may bother you for a few hours. Bring sunglasses, and ask us if you would like someone to drive.
Book an exam
Pick a time in our booking system, or call and we will find one with you.
